2021-what a year! While we excitedly await the new year with the promise of starting fresh, new art, and more shows, we close on a year filled with its own set of unique challenges and opportunities for growth. Looking back on this year let's recap some milestones, events, and achievements of 2021.
We had 12 months of gallery shows!
Going into 2021, uncertainty remained on what to expect for the upcoming year, yet M Fine Arts was open all 12 months featuring remarkable art.
In between these solo exhibitions, we displayed group shows which illustrated how different works of art can complement each other.
2. Online Viewing Rooms and Virtual Exhibits
While nothing truly beats experiencing and seeing art in person, online platforms such as Artland and Artsy offer viewers the chance to appreciate an exhibit from anywhere in the world without leaving the comfort of their home. This past year especially highlighted the resourcefulness of Artland and Artsy, as M Fine Arts held a total of 10 virtual shows. Artland even featured two of our artists: Artlander Magazine highlighted Francisco Sepulveda’s painting “Introspectus” in June issue #67 and in October, Artland named Franco Salas Borquez one of the virtual reality shows of the month.
3. Finding Inspiration
Our represented artists continued to find inspiration and create plenty of new works in a period of time where it’s easy to lose motivation. March’s exhibit, “Exhibition Collective,” unveiled a collection of 26 new paintings and sculptures from 10 represented artists such as Beth Carter’s “Crouching Minotaur.”
Throughout the year we not only gained works from Ramzi Ghotbaldin, Mark Knoerzer, and Quentin Garel, but welcomed two artists to the M Fine Arts family: Franco Salas Borquez and Ramzi Ghotbaldin.
4. We visited Paris
Two COVID tests, well one extra for Mitch’s lost test, and a plane ride across the Atlantic gave us the chance to meet up with our represented artist after nearly 2 years! It was great to catch up, visit studios and plan for the upcoming year. Prepare yourself for the Philippe Charles Jacquet Solo Show coming in June 2022!
5. We participated in and held off-site events
We saw the return of normalcy, well partly, though in person and masked Installations and Fairs, such as the Art Market & Design The Hamptons in August and Seaport Echelon Installations. At the Art Market & Design The Hamptons, Mark Knoerzer presented his colorful, geometric paintings and Quentin Garel’s displayed his nine foot bronze giraffe.
